Welcome to the Creative Chaos with Games, Stitches, and Craftventuring
Hello, and welcome! I'm Sarah of Craftventuring. I’ve been crafting in one form or another for about 26 years, and gaming has been a favorite creative escape since... forever.
This little corner of the internet was created for one simple reason: I love making things, and I love talking about them just as much.
You might be wondering how video games, cross stitch, graphic design, and general crafts all fit together. The short answer? Creativity doesn’t stay in one box. Whether it’s a beautifully designed game interface, a pixel-art-inspired embroidery pattern, or a messy desk covered in paper scraps and thread, it’s all part of the same creative energy.
What This Blog Is About
This blog is a home for:
Video games – not just playing them, but appreciating their art, design, stories, and how they inspire creativity.
Cross stitch – patterns, works in progress, finished pieces, and the oddly relaxing joy of tiny Xs.
Graphic design – experiments, ideas, lessons learned, and thoughts on visual storytelling.
General crafts – trying new things, making mistakes, and figuring it out as I go.
Sometimes these worlds collide. A game might inspire a stitch pattern. A design project might borrow ideas from crafting textures. Other times, I’ll just share what I’m currently obsessed with or working on.
Why Start This Blog?
I wanted a space to:
- Document projects and ideas
- Share inspiration and progress (not just “perfect” finished work)
- Connect with people who also enjoy creating in different ways
- Prove that it’s okay to have many interests and bounce between them
Creativity isn’t linear, and this blog won’t be either... and that’s kind of the point.
What to Expect Next
Upcoming posts may include:
- Craft and cross-stitch projects (successes and failures)
- Thoughts on game design and art
- Design experiments and process breakdowns
- New hobbies I probably didn’t plan on starting
If any of that sounds like your kind of thing, you’re in the right place.
Thanks for stopping by and welcome to the chaos.
